- Applications may be submitted to the Office of Academic Enhancement October 1 – December 17, 2010. Students may apply in one of two ways (please do not submit both):
- ONLINE (recommended): Register for an account at apply.cps.edu. A Personal Identification Number (PIN) will be mailed to the parent to be used in lieu of a signature. Once you have received your PIN, you may complete your application. The Office of Academic Enhancement will send an email confirmation when your application has been successfully submitted.
- PAPER: Paper applications may be printed from www.cpsoae.org beginning October 1 and are also available at CPS elementary schools and selective enrollment high schools. Applications should be mailed to the Office of Academic Enhancement, 125 S. Clark St., 4th Floor, Chicago, IL 60603. DO NOT SEND YOUR APPLICATION TO KING COLLEGE PREP.
- Applicants will receive a letter informing them whether they are eligible to take the selective enrollment exam (see below for eligibility requirements) and if so, their exam date and location. Letters will be mailed to the students’ elementary school; non-CPS students’ letters will be mailed home.
- Applicants must take the selective enrollment exam, offered in December and January, in order to be considered for admission.
- Results will be mailed to students from the Office of Academic Enhancement. Admitted students will also receive an admissions packet from King College Prep. Please reply promptly to ensure your spot at King.

If a student would like to be considered and meets these criteria, please submit the Principal’s Discretion Application.
